The launch was held at Sport ‘n Surf in Long Street, Cape Town. The place was pretty packed!

 Downstairs girls modelled the new range by Taj Burrow/Billabong for guys. Unfortunately I coulnt get photographs of the range from where I stood. All in all, a good range.

Coco is the daughter of legend ‘Sting’. Coco has her own band called ‘I blame coco’. Her hit single ‘Ceasar‘ blows my mind! And she’s only 19 years old… No wonder she’s Burberry’s muse!

She has her own unique style. Sort of indie, boho vibes – which I totally love!

Sunglass Hut asked Streetwise (a social development project) to make 1000 wired, beaded wayfarers with selected colour styles (representing certain teams). Each pair costs R150 where R70 of that goes to OneSight organisation. Each pair also had the signiture of the person who made it.

There were also auctions of other wired sunglasses. Sunglass Hut raised R20100 in 15 mins for OneSight!

There were many familiar faces around: Wedaad from Sunglass Hut, Talya Goldberg, Robyn from O Mag, stylists, FashionJazz, Ernie Els, and comedian Nic Robinowitz.

It was a fabulous launch!

I’m always pretty stoked to support local designers. Hopefully I will be attending the next one Each fashion show is unique as it showcases one  individual designers garments. This designer had an African influence – animal skin sandles, T-Shirts with Bafana influence, subtle colours, embroidery, etc.

We parked on one end of the main road and started walking.  There was a fresh breeze from the harbour right in front of the main road. I must admit, the place is buzzing on the weekends! While strolling along the side walk I saw this…

Then I saw this…

Now, right in the corner of this alley way, is a little vintage clothing store called, Nostalgia. Nostalgia has The most beautiful evening gloves and clutches I’ve ever seen. Gorgeous costumes and dresses too! My eyes were the size of a sauce plates..

Further along was the modern-vintage-style Franki’s. The shop itself was breath-taking! A classic vintage-style collection.

There is an antique shop with a restaurant across the way.

There are many antique shops including antique book shops.

At the end of the strip we couldn’t help but go into the famous Olympia Bakery. The smell of those freshly baked goods! Luke and I had delicious hot cross buns, biscuits and cupcakes. The hot cross buns were huge!

You can really make a day out of Kalk Bay. Whether you grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee at Olympia Cafe, a Sunday lunch and a beer at the Brass Bell, drinks at Cape to Cuba or a traditonal fish and chips at Kalky’s. The harbour is really something beautiful.

I felt like I was in a different city. Was an awesome feeling.

Although I love summer, winter’s always fun to layer your clothes, especially accessorizing with scarves, beanies/berets and my favourite…boots.

I have a variety of different styles boots, but this year I’ve decided to take a turn from my normal stiletto-boot buys….

We all know you HAVE to have knee-highs this season, so for myself, instead of having high or chunky heels, I’m opting for flat knee-highs. Another style I’m falling in love with is the Balmain-combat-style boots. They go so well with winters grunge/military look and are extremely comfy. If you want to see how to wear them, have a look at Balmain’s autumn/winter09 and spring/summer10 collection. In SA ELLE’s May issue the combat boot is featured – which means the ELLE team have given them the OK for winter!

I find I do a lot of walking around town and for that reason I’m opting for comfort - flat knee-highs and combats. Luckily for me, I’ll still be on trend, right?

With your tights, skinnies, leggings, leathers, they’ll look great. A beanie or BF Blazer will give it that grunge look.

These are so stylish. I’d go for these!

Balmain, what can I say? Definitely one of my favourite designers.

I can’t wait to come home after a long day, kick off my boots, snuggle up with a cup of tea and a good book. That’s what winter is for So, instead of a drabby winter, lets make it a stylish one
