I must admit, I’ve never taken the pre fall collections as seriously as I do with the spring/summer and fall/winter collections. However this time, I made the effort to browse through the pre fall collections, and to my delight, was pleasantly surprised.
3.1 Phillip Lim
At 3.1 Phillip Lim, it’s all about the layering and pieces that become wardrobe staples. A classic coat, a black leather satchel, a pair of knee-high black boots and an oversized navy blue tee. There’s something for everyone here.
Proenza Schouler: thank you for showing us how to wear prints. To mix and match with basics and to accentuate the waist (I’m still a huge fan of the pencil skirt).
The pastel colours, pleats, collared blouses and classic trousers at Chloe remind me that I do, in fact, have an obsession with vintage inspired fashion. I want everything from Chloe.
Monique Lhuillier is like a whimsical dream. This is a designer, that in my opinion, knows how women want to feel and look like in an evening gown, or more importantly, on their special wedding day. You have to look at her wedding range.
I think that this might be my favourite Gucci collection to date. It’s filled with vintage inspiration and rich jewel tones. The double breasted outerwear with fur collars, worn with leather gloves and court heels, (you’ll see more of this in the rest of the collection) transported me back to the “Downton Abbey days” (+- 1919). The same goes for the elegant black dresses. Oh, and the chunky jewelled bracelets – nice touch.
Stella McCartney proves that clothes that leave a woman’s figure to the imagination, can be exceptionally fashionable, sexy and classy. I love how often she uses a bright tangerine too.
Céline. OH Céline! I will do ANYTHING (ok, almost anything) for a pair of those platforms. Again, the pleated skirts, straw hats and navy blue suits. Seriously? It reminded me of: “Céline pre fall is blowing my mind!” from the video “Sh*t Fashion Girls Say”. If you love fashion, these videos are guaranteed to make you laugh. Here are a few more links:
