On the 4th of December 2010, Vintage Lifestyle magazine was born. The launch party was held at the quirky but ever so charming Starlings Coffee Shop on 94 Belverdere Road, Claremont…
I was amazed to say the least with the turn out of people. I am SO grateful that each and ever person took time out of there busy schedules to come and see what I’ve been up to this year. I matriculated last year – knew nobody in the industry – and people like Liezel Van Der Westhuizen, Clayton Morar, Marco (Man of the Cloth) and Eloise Dreyer were at the launch.
Clayton Morar, Domenico Deidda, Liezel, Jasna.
The famous drink people keep asking about: It’s called a Singapore Slinger – gin, cherry brandy, granadilla pulp, cherry and cranberry juice with a splash of grenadine. A real vintage recipe from the East.
The dreaded speech – I was so nervous! It was the first time anyone got to see Vintage Lifestyle. An overwhelming experience really.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended and for making the event extra special. Thank you so much to everyone who supports me too. I hope you enjoy the first issue of the magazine, and please let me know your thoughts.
I wish you all a happy Christmas and an amazing new year.
As an introduction to the very first issue of Vintage Lifestyle, I chose the theme: What does vintage mean to you? To some it means Aunt Matilda’s mothball laden overcoats or some dusty old items of furniture. To others it’s a salute to classic fashion and décor.
So, you might ask, at nineteen years of age, what do I know about all things vintage? Well it’s a part of me. It’s all around me and each day I discover ‘new’ things about it and each day I grow to love it more.
My mother – my mentor and role model, has always taught me to appreciate history, that the things we have today are built on the foundations of yesterday and that old does not necessarily mean tacky or useless.
You either get vintage or you don’t. Some get it straight away and others ease themselves into it. To help you along this journey, we will be offering great tips and guidelines and we hope that by reading every issue of Vintage Lifestyle, you will be able to discover what it means to you.
Embrace it. It is a lifestyle.

So tomorrow is The big day…
While I write this I am so excited, nervous, happy, scared, content with my life all at the same time. It’s a weird feeling. I have worked so hard for this and tomorrow I know, it will pay off. I want to thank EVERYONE who has supported me – in any way.
Here’s a sneak peek of the fashion pages for you…
Vintage Lifestyle was featured for the first time on the Bobblylicious blog. I am so honoured that so many bloggers have approached me to blog about the magazine and it hasn’t even launched yet.
Looking forward to tomorrow – I will definitely tweet about it – so follow @VintageLMag.
