BOOTilicious

Winter’s almost here in South Africa. For us in Cape Town, it feels like it’s braced us with it’s presence already!

Although I love summer, winter’s always fun to layer your clothes, especially accessorizing with scarves, beanies/berets and my favourite…boots.

I have a variety of different styles boots, but this year I’ve decided to take a turn from my normal stiletto-boot buys….

We all know you HAVE to have knee-highs this season, so for myself, instead of having high or chunky heels, I’m opting for flat knee-highs. Another style I’m falling in love with is the Balmain-combat-style boots. They go so well with winters grunge/military look and are extremely comfy. If you want to see how to wear them, have a look at Balmain’s autumn/winter09 and spring/summer10 collection.

I find I do a lot of walking around town and for that reason I’m opting for comfort - flat knee-highs and combats. Luckily for me, I’ll still be on trend, right?

With your tights, skinnies, leggings, leathers, they’ll look great. A beanie or BF Blazer will give it that grunge look.

These are so stylish. I’d go for these!

Balmain, what can I say? Definitely one of my favourite designers.

I can’t wait to come home after a long day, kick off my boots, snuggle up with a cup of tea and a good book. That’s what winter is for ;) So, instead of a drabby winter, lets make it a stylish one :D

Charly’s is Mucking Afazing!

At almost all of our family occasions we’ve always had cakes and things from Charly’s Bakery but I had never been there. I’ve even seen the building..how sad?..

On Thursday morning Gabrielle and I decided to visit Charly’s Bakery. Now this was my first time. I know, like, who hasn’t been there already??

We had cappuccino’s. Good, but not the best I’ve had (maybe I went on the wrong day?). The foam on top was delicious though. I loved the look of the place, the laid back feeling, the smell of the bakery that’s literally behind the counters and receiving service with a smile. The creativeness of Charly’s is like no other – that’s why I took pictures to show you.

The building

The cappuccino’s

Those cakes!

The wall of fame – Pictures of all their cakes that have been showcased in Top Billing, O mag, etc. Oprah’s even been there.

On a Caffeine high.
